Abstract: The proposed review of the next issue of the journal Stratum plus (2016, no. 6) concerns a compilation of articles by scholars from Russia, Ukraine and Moldova on the problem of determining the consequences of the Mongol-Tatar conquest of the thirteenth century. Researchers offer their views on the changes that occurred in the Eurasian continent after the end of the major military campaign and the formation of the Golden Horde. Using data from written sources, archaeological research, numismatics and other sources, the researchers offer an objective assessment of the changes that took place in Europe, some of which do not always correspond to traditional estimations. The author positively assesses this collective contribution to the development of modern ideas about the events under consideration and believes that this issue of the journal reflects a sound, important and very useful exercise of research efforts.

Keywords: Mongol-Tatars, Mongol conquests, Golden Horde, material culture of the Golden Horde, Golden Horde numismatics and architecture, consequences of invasions
