Abstract. Research objective: the purpose of this article is to attempt to determine the tribe to which the recently discovered dynastic line of Golden Horde beks belonged.
Reserch materiials: numismatic material of the Juchid state of the 13th-15th centuries, medieval written sources, historical, numismatic and ethnographic studies of domestic and foreign authors.
Results and novelty of the research: earlier, as a result of numismatic research, it was established that in the 1430s – early 1440s, a certain dynasty of beks Mahmud – Tigene – Mahmud minted coins at their own Bik-Bazar. For some time, these emirs served Khan Muhammad, Timur’s son. Earlier, it was assumed that these beks belonged to the Shirin clan. However, a more careful examination of numismatic facts, information from written sources, ethnographic materials, and a study of the tamgas, one of which stands above the name Mahmud on his coins, leads to a different conclusion. The author believes that the discovered dynasty belonged to another clan of the Golden Horde elite. Most likely, to the Uishin.
